When teaching goes partially or totally online, students need different kinds of supports, but also have different kinds of learning opportunities.
Well-run forums mean each question may only have to be asked and answered once. Social sharing online means students can clarify things for each other, just like in class. Technology allows us to collaborate effectively using LaTeX editor, highlighted syntax and code blocking.
This workshop looks at Piazza as a chat and collaboration tool which can help teachers to increase student participation in hybrid courses using collaborative problem solving.
