To build on this discussion, Hervé Rigal, founder and CEO of Base Design, will share his perspective on the role and impact of design from the earliest stages of an entrepreneurial journey.
The evening will take place in Renens, partner city and co-organiser of the Innovation by Design Challenge since its launch in 2017. Also a place where ECAL, EPFL and a thriving community of innovative companies come together every day.

For its 9th edition, five companies teamed up with pairs of designers for an intensive two-day sprint. The goal: to challenge a product’s value proposition and explore what makes it stand out: who it’s for, what need it addresses, and why someone would choose it over another.
The award ceremony will be an opportunity to discover concrete examples of design-driven innovation: how to rethink an offering and give it a new dimension through exploration and rapid experimentation.
