Join us for the celebration of the International Day of Light!
This initiative was proclaimed by the UNESCO to promote the progress and promise of light technologies and research, and to raise awareness about their importance to humankind. The EPFL Photonics Chapter invites you to join the EPFL IDL celebration on May 16th in SV 1717 starting at 4:00 PM. This year the event will include a series of presentations from all the aspects of Light from academia to industry and art.
For this occasion, we will have the pleasure to host Prof. Monika Ritsch-Marte (Biomedical Optics Lab, Medical University of Innsbruck), who will give a lecture entitled:
"LIGHT IN LIFE SCIENCES"
The talk is held in the frame of the OSA travelling lecturer programme.
Moreover, we are glad to open the EPFL "International Day of Light" Photo Contest in collaboration with the EPFL Photo Club. The theme we propose is: "The Game of Lights".
The apero is sponsored by the Swissphotonics and the SPIE Special event grant.
