International Women’s Day: “Women’s Careers: What’s Next after epfl?”

For the first time, EPFL organizes an event for the occasion of International Women’s Day, focusing on the theme «Women’s Careers: What’s next after EPFL?». Co-organized by EPFL Alumni and the office of Equality, it aims to inspire and to share diverse career paths in the domains of research and education, industry, entrepreneurship, or finance.
The event will be opened by Leïla Ojjeh, Director of EPFL Alumni, and Pierre Vandergheynst, Vice-President of EPFL for Education.
This will be followed by the presentation of a McKinsey study entitled «Why Women Matter» by Nina Probst, a McKinsey associate.
Editor-in-chief of the Bilan magazine, Myret Zaki, will then lead a round table discussion that will bring together several EPFL graduates to talk about their careers :
– Marilyne Andersen (PhD AR’04), dean of the ENAC Faculty at EPFL
Deborah Heintze (SV’ 12) co-founder and COO of the startup Lunaphore, active in the fight against cancer
Lajla Aganovic (SC’ 08), senior investment officer for a private asset management firm
Agnès Simon (BA ME’ 93), senior business director at Medtronic Europe
Assia Garbinato (SC’ 97, PhD SI’ 00) Head of Data Group, La Vaudoise Assurance
Michèle Reigner (MX’ 01) Head of Patents & Technology Watch Rolex
Helene Fueger, director of the Equality Office, will conclude and present various associations that you will be able to discover afterwards during the cocktail dinner.
Programme and registration
The event is free for students and EPFL employees.
EPFL alumni contributors benefit from a preferential rate of CHF 30.-
The fee for non-contributing alumni and external participants is CHF 50.-.
