As part of the Musica ex Machina exhibition, EPFL Pavilions presents an exceptional concert between mathematics, music and computational thinking, given by American-Taiwanese pianist, composer and improviser Kit Armstrong.

From Renaissance to Baroque to computer-generated compositions, the evening presents how mathematics and algorithmic thinking have shaped the evolution of musical composition. The concert includes works by Bach, Chopin, Ligeti and many others, combining piano solos, algorithmic pieces for player piano and interactive human-computer performances.

A former child prodigy, Kit Armstrong holds degrees in music, physics and mathematics. A renowned pianist, he performs on the world's greatest stages.
