A visit with two full-body interaction demos is organized at EPFL-IIG within the framework of Virtual Switzerland, the CTI national network for immersive technologies and virtual environments simulations. In collaboration with EPFL-LNCO, the IIG research group is exploiting full-body movements in immersive virtual environments to better understand the human sense of Embodiment and to achieve new classes of tasks such as the acquisition or rehabilitation of coordinated movements. The presentation will first highlight the results of a Master project allowing to increase/decrease the amplitude of gestures while preserving the consistency of self-contacts. In a second part, a live retarging algorithm will illustrate the possibility to control the body of a different person or virtual creature while preserving the coherence of the posture in terms of contacts.
Registration is free but compulsory due to the demo room limited capacity.
