Did you know that the corridors of EPFL and UNIL house more than a thousand historical scientific instruments? These objects, dating from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, are precious witnesses to the history of science in Lausanne and tell the story of scientific adventure at the crossroads of teaching and research.
On the occasion of Lausanne Museum Night 2025, this collection is being showcased through a selection of items related to the physics of electricity and magnetism. From measuring current to electromagnetic phenomena and applications in telegraphy, discover instruments that were at the heart of scientific activity in their day.
