Dr. Loïc M. Roch is the co-founder and CTO of Atinary Technologies, a Swiss-American AI/ML deeptech startup that enables self-driving labs™ to accelerate R&D with its self-learning approach. Before founding Atinary Technologies, Dr. Roch worked for 2 years as a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard University, University of Toronto and the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Toronto. Dr. Roch specialized in AI and ML for materials discovery and process optimization, and in software design for closed-loop experimentation. He obtained his PhD degree in 2016 from the University of Zurich and Tianjin University on theoretical and quantum chemistry, and on the design and optimization of high-performance computing centers. He obtained both his Bachelor (Chemistry and Chemical Engineer, 2010) and his Master (Molecular and Biological Chemistry, 2012) at EPFL, Lausanne. |

In this talk, I will introduce Atinary’s AI platform and self-driving labs technology solutions – SDLabs – and will showcase how users can significantly accelerate and enhance R&D with a data-driven approach. More specifically, I will give an overview of BO for chemistry, transfer learning with neural processes, and multi-fidelity optimization for efficient use of low-fidelity data. Additionally, I will present various use-cases demonstrating unprecedented acceleration and target achievements.
