The Reconfigurable Robotics Lab (RRL) focuses on creating robots that can change their shape and function depending on the task and environment at hand. There are several approaches to integrating 'softness' in robotic systems, such as programming traditional robots in a soft way, increasing the number of degrees of freedom, or using soft components and actuators. In this talk, the recent efforts of the lab regarding soft robots and origami robots and show how they go about creating these robots on the basis of Mori, a modular origami robot, will be presented.
