This event organized in a participatory workshop mode seeks to raise awareness of legal rights (GDPR) to access to one's personal data and to build together collaborative tools that allow it. It will bring together both civil society and the academic community (humanities and technical sciences).
It will be conducted as a continuation of a collaborative survey conducted with Le Temps.
Presentations will begin by briefly raising awareness of digital rights issues. The legal aspects will be presented, as well as case studies to illustrate the possible uses that can be made of the data once they have been obtained. The workshop will provide an introduction to the use of wiki.personaldata.io, an online collaborative tool (wiki) facilitating the request for one's personal data. Participants will then be able to make requests to companies that are already listed, or contribute to the tool by adding an entry to the directory. In addition to allowing this support in access requests, the event will also aim to develop tools (Jupyter, javascript) to analyze or share the data obtained. Each participant will be able to get involved in the different activities proposed here: participate actively in the discussions, contribute to the methodological decision making, start requesting their data under the GDPR, program new tools, enrich the database.
Free participation on registration with meals and drinks offered:
