EPFL ArtLab is pleased to welcome the Prix Pictet, Prize for Photography and Sustainability. Works by the twelve of the outstanding photographers shortlisted for the prize, revolving around this years’ theme Space.

The Prix Pictet (Pictet prize) is an international award in photography and sustainability. The mandate of the award is to use the power of photography to communicate messages about sustainability to a global audience. Its goal is to uncover photography of the highest order, applied to current social and environmental challenges.

The Irish photographer Richard Mosse is the seventh laureate of the Prix Pictet. He was selected for his Heat Maps series, (2016-17) in which he documented refugee camps with a military-grade thermal camera that detects body heat.
