This workshop joint organize with the EPFL AI Student association team explores the impact of AI and large language models (LLMs) on online education, from the perspective of Scholé, a new EPFL AI spinoff. We will start by discussing the machine learning for education space, presenting recent research projects from the EPFL ML for Education Lab (Prof. Tanja Käser) on topics of learner-AI interactions and interpretable neural networks. This will be followed by interactive brainstorming sessions to envision the future of education with LLMs, where participants will engage in a hands-on discussion about designing adaptive and interactive learning experiences. Finally, we will discuss the ideas behind Scholé, focusing on how AI-driven systems can personalize curriculum, dynamically adjust content based on user understanding, and facilitate deeper engagement through intelligent tutoring and assessment mechanisms. This session will emphasize practical strategies for leveraging LLMs to create more effective and scalable online learning experiences.
