EPFL Library and the Chemical Abstracts Service are pleased to invite you to the EPFL SciFinder Day on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to hear about the functionalities of the new SciFinder-n platform https://scifinder-n.cas.org/, presented by the director of CAS training for Europe, Middle-East and the US, Mr. Paul Peters. SciFinder-n will replace the classic SciFinder interface at the end of 2021, so come and see what’s new!
The coffee break will be kindly sponsored by CAS. Attendance is free, but for the usual logistics and health protection purposes it is mandatory to register using the following link: https://bookwhen.com/fr/epfl_library/e/ev-szng-20211006090000
Note that seats are limited to 40: in general it is better to designate a few delegates in your respective labs so that all groups can eventually receive the presented information. However, on this day we still have a good number of available seats so I think we will be able to accept most or all of the interested people. Furthermore, we are investigating the feasibility of recording the presentations.
Program
9h | Introduction to CAS: A look behind the scenes of SciFinder-n
9h15 | SciFinder-n: What’s new
9h30 | SciFinder-n: Text searching
10h | Coffee Break
10h30 |Structure and reaction searching in SciFinder-n
11h |Retrosynthesis
11h30 | Searching patents and Markush structures
11h45 | Biosequences
12h | Q&A session
13h | End
