The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) was founded in 1863 in the age of the telegraph. Its mission is to ensure protection and assistance of victims of war and armed violence. It takes action in response to emergencies and promotes respect for humanitarian law. What is its place in a hyperconnected world? How is technology changing its role and the nature of war?
