This Workshop is co-organized by CECAM and the EPFL AI Center.

The event comprehensively explores the synergy between artificial intelligence and physical modeling in advancing modern simulation techniques, is structured around four key sessions, and provides a deep dive into this rapidly evolving field. The first session on foundational machine learning establishes a solid understanding of AI principles crucial for integration with physicochemical models. The second session delves into optimal transport theory and its applications, bridging theoretical concepts with practical implementations in free energy and genomics. The third session focuses on machine learning potentials for physical and chemical simulations, showcasing how AI can enhance traditional computational methods by combining quantum mechanics with molecular dynamics. The final session explores the intersection of machine learning and physical modeling in molecular and material science, demonstrating cutting-edge applications revolutionizing research and development in these fields.

Throughout the workshop, participants will engage with expert speakers, explore case studies, and participate in formal and informal discussions according to the best tradition of the CECAM events. The workshop aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to effectively leverage AI in their simulation work by addressing challenges such as model interpretability, computational efficiency, and ethical considerations. This event will allow researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals to network, collaborate, and drive innovation at the frontier of AI-enhanced physicochemical modeling and simulation.

You will find more information (speakers, abstracts, program,...) on the event website: https://www.cecam.org/workshop-details/challenges-and-perspective-in-computational-modelling-for-fusion-reactors-1293. This event is co-sponsored by Huawei

Application to participate & call for poster
Registration is required to attend the full event, take part in the social activities and present a poster at the poster session. However, the EPFL community is welcome to attend specific lectures without registration if the topic is of interest to their research.
Kindly note that the application process and the submission of a poster abstract are two different steps. First, please apply by visiting the event webpage and clicking on the "participate" tab (a CECAM account is mandatory for this step, if you do not have one yet, start by creating one here). Once your application has been submitted, you can provide a poster abstract to support your application and maybe be selected to present your work during the workshop. To do so, go to the "my participation" tab on the event webpage, scroll down to "my poster" and click on "Add poster".
The deadline to register is November 19th. Please note that it is not mandatory to submit an abstract to attend the event, however it will be taken into consideration while reviewing the applicant's profile.

Do not hesitate to contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
