Session objective: whether you are a data science novice or a seasoned professional, this complimentary online session will be a high-level overview of how to use machine learning to solve problems, make decisions and build smart programs, including an overview of the online courses available to gain these sought-after skills.
Program objective: this intermediate-level program will give you hands-on experience in one of the hottest areas of data science. You’ll learn the techniques and tools for data acquisition, transformation and predictive analysis, ensuring you have a solid foundation in working with the entire data pipeline.
Live demo: During the session, an EPFL Extension School course instructor(s) will give a live teaching demo on how to clean and analyse data, build a simple machine learning model, and communicate the entire workflow and results using Jupyter notebooks.
Target audience: while this introductory session is open to everyone, if you wish to pursue this program, we would recommend that you have some prior experience with a coding language and a basic mathematical background in linear algebra, probability theory, statistics and calculus.
