Join us for an engaging  discussion on the future of research assessment in the context of Open Science.

EPFL has previously committed to the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), setting forth principles and guidelines for the evaluation of scientific research. While it marked an important step for many institutions, DORA's impact on institutional evaluation methods is not always clear.

With principles of Open Science gaining momentum, there is a growing recognition that research assessment should encompass a wider range of contributions by researchers in hiring and promotion processes.

As EPFL prepares to join the international Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), we're seeking your insights and perspectives on the best way to get involved. CoARA is an international collaborative effort that provides a platform for scientists from diverse backgrounds to collectively reshape how research is assessed within their disciplines, institutions, and on a global scale.

Our event will take the form of an interactive town hall with a roundtable discussion featuring:
- Prof. Sofia Olhede, Head of the Committee for Academic Evaluation of EPFL
- Prof. Jan Hesthaven, Vice-President for Academic Affairs
- Prof. Jérôme Waser, Member of the Open Science Strategic Committee
- Dr. Daniel Probst, Postdoctoral researcher in STI

We aim to create a space for dialogue - so come and share your thoughts in our collective effort to improve the evaluation of scientific research.
