For holomorphic vector bundles, the celebrated Hitchin-Kobayashi correspondence states that the slope-stability of the bundle is equivalent to the existence of a Hermite-Einstein connection.

In the first part of the talk, we present a classical result of Hong that relates this to Kähler metrics, showing that on the projectivisation of a slope-stable vector bundle there exists a Kähler metric with constant scalar curvature.

In the second part of the talk, we generalise this to slope-semistable vector bundles. In particular, we introduce a new stability condition on strictly slope-semistable vector bundle that allows us to construct constant scalar curvature metrics on the projectivisation.

This is joint work with L.M. Sektnan.
