Ever wondered what happens during a Ph.D.? Unsure about your next career steps? Interested in academia but have many questions? Our DAG Talk series is the opportunity to interact first-hand with figures in the field!
We are proud to invite Casper Goverde, a Ph.D. in Computational and Quantitative Biology at EPFL. Casper will talk about how the combination of deep learning with a vast amount of experimental information on protein sequences and structure has revolutionized the field of protein design in recent years. While these “folding networks” can solve structures and predict the folding of complex proteins, have they captured the fundamental principles?
Casper will show us the challenges he faces in his research and give insight into how data science is applied in the field.
The event will be held as a  “Lunch & Learn” event on Monday, December 12th at 12.15 PM. We will offer sandwiches (free lunch!) that you can eat during the presentation, followed by a Q&A session. Spots are limited to 30 participants, so sign up now!
