This public event will allow to explore the important new topic of PeaceTech. The EPFL EssentialTech Centre invites you to join 5 inspiring panelists in their reflections on how science and technology can be harnessed in the pusuit of peace. The objective is to identify how STEM can be leveraged to address all forms of violence. 
The panelists are: 

Katia PAPAGIANNI, Director, Policy and Mediation Support, Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue
Hansjörg EBERLE, Director, Fondation Suisse de Déminage
Laurent GOETSCHEL, Director, Swisspeace
Rachel M'BON, Writer, film director and journalist
Maryam MEYLAN, Human Rights Defender

The moderation will be assured by Anouch SEYDTAGHIA, Journalist at Le Temps.

The event will also mark the kick-off of the PeaceTech Hackathon which will take place later that week (9-10 March). 

It will be followed by a cocktail where the peacetech challenges proposed by numerous partner organizations will be presented. 
This PeaceTech event and Hackthon are supported by EPFL Vice Presidency for Centers and Platform,  Vice Presidency for Student Affairs and Outreach, and EPFL Foundation Plus.
