Every year, the EPFL & EPFL-WISH Foundation holds the prestigious Erna Hamburger Prize and Conference, an event that brings into the limelight an influential, leading woman who is transforming her field and executing change. This year, celebrating our 10th anniversary of these prizes, we not only want to bring attention to a woman who is a global change maker, but also to local women, combining science, humanities and entrepreneurs. This is why we are proud to announce our partnership with “Club de Femmes Entrepreneures”, and their President, Nadine Reichenthal, to also bring local female talents into public exposure.

Her work on understanding the mechanisms employed by resurrection plants in order to tolerate desiccation has been fundamental to identifying genes of importance for improving drought tolerance of crops through bioengineering.
