The Collaborative Research on Science and Society (CROSS) Program encourages interdisciplinary projects that deal with current issues in society and technology, and that are carried out as a collaboration between researchers from EPFL and the University of Lausanne (UNIL).
Each year, up to six projects are financially supported by the CROSS program. These proposals bring together specialists in the humanities and social sciences on the one hand, and specialists in the life sciences, natural sciences or engineering sciences on the other.
CROSS is a springboard for interdisciplinary projects. With this financial support of up to 60,000 CHF per project, researchers can test a one-year collaboration on a research topic uniting EPFL and UNIL.
This afternoon of demos and discussions will allow participants to investigate such questions as:

This afternoon of demos and discussions will allow participants to investigate such questions as:
- What are the opportunities and challenges of interdisciplinary research?
