Sexism and sexual harassment are a reality in the Swiss university landscape. To help build a harassment-free university environment, universities and higher education institutions are launching the first Switzerland-wide Harassment Awareness Day on 23 March 2023. EPFL is taking part in this important event.

A video message by the Rectors and Presidents marks their common commitment to inclusive and respectful universities. You will also find a Content Hub to deepen your knowledge of the subject.

EPFL takes allegations of sexual or gender-based harassment very seriously and there are several support structures available to community members. Take 50 minutes to follow our e-learning "You are not alone. Promoting Respect". You will learn, among other things, how to react to harassment situations (as a victim, witness or supervisor), what your responsibilities are as a member of the community and what the EPFL support and complaint management process is.

Various online events are taking place on March 23: We propose to watch them together in room BS 102 (venue could change, thanks for checking this memento one day ahead).

11:15 - 12:00 | The True Costs of Sexual Harassment for All (EN), with Dr. Bettina Palazzo, Dr. Léïla Eisner, Dr. Tabea Hässler.
13:15 - 14:00 | Qu’est-ce que le harcèlement sexuel et comment trouver de l’aide ? (FR), with the participation of Marijn van der Meer, alumna EPFL, and Aurélie Nusbaum-de Francesco, EPFL Person of Trust.
17:00 - 18:30 | Panel Discussion : "Crisis management in cases of sexual harassment"  (DE/EN).

Links for participation will be available on the website shortly before the event.
